Cup Secretary Wanted

Applications are being invited for the position of Leeds FA Cup Secretary, to be responsible for running its programme of District Cup Competitions.

The Leeds FA is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation, affiliated to and under the control of the West Riding County Football Association Ltd. The new Cup Secretary will join an experienced team of volunteer administrators. The position is not salaried and will require some working from home; however, all expenses are paid to enable a suitable person to perform the duties required.

You will need to be passionate about and dedicated to local football in the Leeds area with a good knowledge of what is required of a Cup fixture secretary. An ability to work to deadlines and good interpersonal skills are essential, as liaising with Clubs and Leagues involved will be an integral part of the role.

As the Cup Secretary you will administer District Cup Competitions and assist the Leeds FA General Secretary in the work of the Cup Committee, producing an agenda and minutes for all Cup Committee meetings and Cup disciplinary meetings.

All Leeds FA Cup Competitions are subject to the Leeds FA Full Time online administration system, so that you will need to be reasonably skilled in email and Word and Microsoft Excel, as this is the Football Association’s preferred means of communication and administration for all affiliated Clubs and Leagues.

If appointed you will be part of a dedicated team of officials with duties supporting local football in the Leeds area, and will enjoy their full cooperation and support.

The Leeds FA is governed by all FA rules and regulations, and is required to adopt all welfare policies and equal opportunity policies as laid down by the West Riding County FA, the race relations amendment Act 2000, and the Equality Act 2010.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the Leeds FA General Secretary and Treasurer Jack Stott at jack.stott@btopenworld.com.

The deadline for applications is 30th June 2015 and pre-season duties are due to commence on 31st July 2015. All applications will be considered and interviews arranged as necessary.
